From 2004, start of use of the materials that do not have cadmium and lead.

ISO9001 and 14001 were acquired together in February, 2005.

Started to use lead-free aluminum in June, 2005.

From 2006, the instruction of EU WEEE/RoHS(*2) that do not admit the sales of products which 6 particular chemical substances such as lead·mercury·cadmium· hexavalent chrome ·PBP·PBDE(*1) are in will be started in the EU region. Our company decided to deal with the products without cadmium and lead from 2004 prior to this action.

1. The hazardous characteristics of 6      particular chemical substances
Lead

The lead absorbed into the body, even if what chemical combination it is, generates serious toxic symptoms. The major symptoms are anemia, weakness, constipation, the acute pain in the stomach, paralysis and the benumbed symptom in wrists and ankles.
Mercury
If you inhale the steam even very small, the toxic symptoms will be occurred. If it stays inside the body continuously over long time, the nerves and the internal organs are destroyed. Minamata disease is due to methylmercury poisoning.
Cadmium
Cadmium has high toxicity and if it stays inside the body, it generates the kidney disorder so it obstructs the action of enzyme.
Hexavalent chrome
If you inhale this as high concentration over long time, it generates nasal septal perforation. It has high toxicity and if you contact to it directly, you get to have dermatitis.
PBB( Polybromide Biphenyl)
One of chemical substances that are doubted as responsible things for the hormonal disorder(environmental hormone)
As for the hormonal function, the thyroid hormonal disorder was appointed by E. Grey et al.
PBDE(Poly Brominated Diphenyl Ether)
One of chemical substances that are doubted as responsible things for the hormonal disorder(environmental hormone)
The epidemiological research reports about testing on the effect for human beings have been presented yet, the interior of the body concentration is much increasing now.

2. The instruction of EU WEEE/RoHS
On Feb. 13, 2003, by EU(European Union), (WEEE) 'Waste of Electric and Electronic Equipment' and (RoHS) 'the restriction of the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment' were officially promulgated.
WEEE requires the construction of the system of classification ·collection about wastes of 10 kinds appointed products to reduce the volume and hazardous characteristics. It is comparable to the Japanese 'Home Electric and Electronic Equipment Recycling Act' that makes makers obligatory to collect and recycle for out of use equipments.
RoHS restrains to use the hazardous substances about 8 kinds appointed products among 10 kinds appointed products according to WEEE. The prohibited substances are 6kinds (lead·mercury·cadmium· hexavalent chrome · Polybromide Biphenyl · Poly Brominated Diphenyl Ether), they will be prohibited to use on July 1.
WEEE: Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment
RoHS: Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous Substances in electrical and electronic equipment
